If you play guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, or resonator guitar you can be part of a bluegrass jam!

Only requirements: You must be able to tune your instrument (electronic tuning devices welcome) and change smoothly between G, C, D, and A. Fast playing is not expected, nor is the ability to solo required.

What is Jam Camp?
  • Understanding, low-pressure, experienced teaching by Pete and Joan Wernick with Scott Freeman, Scott Lewis, and Steve Lewis
  • Hands-on learning in large and small groups
  • How to play lead, fake solos, sing harmony
  • Group and individualized instruction on backup techniques
  • Ground rules and etiquette; learn many bluegrass standards

Camp times: 9:15 AM - 5:00 PM daily

Tuition is $340 and includes lunch and snacks each day

Consider us your second home while you pick and strum the days away.  Log cabins with big porches, home cooked meals, friends, and great music - what more could you ask for? Our 1,438 acres is the perfect backdrop for you to enjoy and explore during your stay with us.  Our log cabins with bunk beds are heated, air conditioned, and have showers and rest rooms for your comfort. With porches off the front there are plenty of places to gather and jam. Bringing an RV or wanting to tent?  We have sites and meal plans for all attendees.

Herring Ridge is a family-friendly facility offering an alcohol and drug-free environment. We look forward to seeing and hearing you at Jam Camp 2010!
